ATC Flower #14

370
Large flower ATCs are the scheme today. #354, I did while I was still looking for a white gell pen and was experimenting with alternate forms of white 'pens'. I tried a white x-ray pen and several paint pens. This card is a mix of the different pens. On card #370, I used a white Gelly Roll pen. Gelly Rolls are much easier to use and have a better effect overall.

ATC Flower Color #7

268
To color number 268, I used Derwent Inktense colored pencils, but for number 272 I used Faber-Castell Watercolor pencils. My scanner is making the orange redder than it should be so I photoshopped these two. #268 came out more successfully than #272, when the image is compared to it's original card.

ATC Mushroom #11

Number 266 I colored with Derwent Inktense and #279 I colored with Derwent Artists Pencils. The pencils give two very different looks.

Have a great day!

ATC Flower Color #5

264
This is the last of this set of flowers. #264 seems to have scanned ok, but #265 lost it's orange. Hopefully I can figure out a better way to color correct fast for the next set of flowers.

Have a happy day!

ATC Flower Color #4

262
Two more flowers today. Doodling flowers is soothing. Since I don't use pencil or erase on my ATCs, flowers are the most relaxing. They grow out more or less symmetrically from a center point.

Stop and smell the flowers today,

ATC Flower Color #2

258
I really like the brightness I am getting with the Derwent Inktense colored pencils, but I think my scanner has issues with the bright colors. Number 259 ended up being more muted than I had intended (in real life too, not just on the screen), but I learned quite a bit about the medium and the result is a series of bright flowers.

Have a lovely day!

ATC Flower Color #1

248
On Deb Ammerman's  (her web site here) suggestion in a comment on my blog, I got a few Derwent Inktense colored pencils (I am extremely lucky that my local Jareer carries Derwent products) and have been experimenting with them. The next series of posts are flowers I did with my rapidograph pen and my new Inktense pencils. They are pretty smooth and when water is added, their color really can intensify. One thing I am happy about with these is that once the color is dry, it stays put. This means that there is less bleeding and mudding of edge colors.

For some reason my scanner has been taking out most of the orange color when I scan my drawings. I have been trying to put some of the orange back in (quickly) with moderate success.
