This is my first 'on my own' Art Impressions watercolor. I am quite happy with the way it turned out. Maybe I'll frame it instead of turning it into a card :)

Supplies:
Art Impressions Stamps
Koi Coloring Brush Pens - Sakura
Strathmore Watercolor Paper Cold Press 400 Series

Card - Enjoy the Little Things

I had lots of green butterfly wings sitting on my desk and I thought they would be pretty in a wreath around the Anna Griffin Medallion. The medallion came with my mini minc foiling machine and after foiling the piece I colored it with alcohol markers. I die-cut a leaf shape and used it as a stencil then put the butterfly wings and antenna on top. Then I layered some leaves on top. I used foam tape under the medallion and stamped my sentiment on some acetate I had cut out with a scalloped edge die. Lastly I glued down three purple dots I made from beads.

Have a great day!

Card - So Grateful Friend

Here is another friendship card I will be giving out. On this card I used the flowers and stems I had been experimenting with using the Kaisercraft Watercolor Friends stamp and die set. This set is a layering stamp set with 3 stamps for the flower and 2 for the leaves. The idea is to use one color, often the lightest, for the base shape and subsequently darker colors for the next layers. I used a lighter color for the base, darker for the petal definition, and instead of black or dark brown a metallic yellow. I ended up stamping the yellow 2 to 3 times to get the coverage I wanted. These stamps are pretty easy to line up and I like that the flower doesn't have a uniform shape as this makes it much easier to line the die up correctly.

Have a wonderful friend filled day!

Card - Smile for Coffee Friends

I made a set of 6 of these cards to give to friends. I only had 4 gold doilies so for 2 of the cards I painted a white doily, layered a die-cut heart doily over it, and then put the eyelet circle with the coffee element over that. I like the way the cards came out and hope the recipients like them.

Have a lovely day!

Horse and flowers

Happy new year!

Tomorrow is my husband's birthday, but due to his work schedule, we are celebrating it today. The last couple of weeks I have been working on his present. This is how it turned out:

I cut Saba out of three different photographs and worked around him to get the white space. Then I framed them in a triple frame from IKEA. Each piece of artwork is 5.75"x7.75" and drawn with Micron and Letraset pens on Strathmore Bristol vellum 100lb. paper.

On a sad note Fishy died last night and today Teema was sent to the yearly auction. We had a short burial for Pudge last evening. He had been sick for awhile and we expected him to die any day, but it is still sad.
We (and Saba mostly) will miss Teema and hope she gets sold to a good owner or the price is too low and she can come back to the farm while we wait to see if someone on camp will buy her. She is sweet and good with kids.

On a good note, the cake I made from my rice flour mixture came out great. The cake is moist and the buttercream frosting complements it, yum. For the name and year, I cut a pattern from wax paper and pressed sprinkles through it into the frosting.
Have a great New Year!
