This flower I drew first with my Rapidograph pens, then colored it in with Derwent Artists Pencils and used sansodor to mix the colors. Perhaps because the red is not so bright, the orange showed up better in this scan. Happily I remembered to scan it before I put it into its frame.
This is the last of this set of flowers. #264 seems to have scanned ok, but #265 lost it's orange. Hopefully I can figure out a better way to color correct fast for the next set of flowers.
Two more flowers today. Doodling flowers is soothing. Since I don't use pencil or erase on my ATCs, flowers are the most relaxing. They grow out more or less symmetrically from a center point.
I really like the brightness I am getting with the Derwent Inktense colored pencils, but I think my scanner has issues with the bright colors. Number 259 ended up being more muted than I had intended (in real life too, not just on the screen), but I learned quite a bit about the medium and the result is a series of bright flowers.
